Petrified palm wood is the result of the fossilization of palm trees that once grew along ancient prehistoric beaches. It is characterised by its rod-like structures. When cut horizontally it gives a spotted pattern which is where the pattern in this pendant comes from. Petrified palmwood is found today mostly in the United States in deposits around Texas and Louisiana. This pendant is a one-off piece and is the exact item shown in the photograph (not just a similar piece). We have only one in stock. The setting is hallmarked sterling silver and is custom-made to fit this particular stone. The pendant measures 51mm tall including the bail. Shown pictured on the optional curb chain.
